Let's say you have a few comics that you wan to track as back issues. It's easy to add them to your back issue inventory using your Comic Shop Assistant Back Issues module.

  1. Under BACK ISSUES, search for the title of the series you want to add (do not include issue numbers in your search).
  2. Click on the series title or enter the issue number you want to start viewing the series from (helpful if you don't want to flip through six pages of Batman to get to the issue you need to add).
  3. This will show you all variants of each issue available in the Grand Comics Database.
  4. Under the issue you want to add to inventory, enter a quantity, price and grade. These elements are required in order to have an item in inventory. Without a price or grade, an inventoried item is treated as "loose inventory," which can be helpful for knowing which box something is in before it's been graded or priced.
  5. If you select YES in the LIST ON WEBSITE? drop menu, your issue will be available on your public-facing site. Otherwise, it will only be available within your CSA transactions and back issue searches.

Some things to note:

  • Back issues carry an inventory of one, so make sure you're selling the correct copy in a transaction. Creating multiple copies through the back issue inventory creation will give you multiple entries for one copy each.
  • You can manage your back issue inventory under BACK ISSUES > BACK ISSUE INVENTORY.
  • Once you've created back issue inventory, you can search for the item in a transaction by clicking on ADD A BACK ISSUE or by entering the back issue sku in the trn search field with CSABI in front of it.
  • You can generate barcodes for each back issue sku from the back issue itself or from the BACK ISSUES > BACK ISSUE INVENTORY page.
