Sometimes you get bundled items in your store. It's helpful to be able to bundle and un-bundle them as needed. Think Boxes of Pokemon or packages of Marvel graphic short boxes. But also consider creating custom bundles of storylines.
Let's use a box of TCGs as our example.
You have a box of TGS that contains 36 packs, and you want to break it open to sell as a single packs.
First, we need to tell Comic Shop Assistant that this item is a bundle that contains child items.
You will need to have the box item as well as the single pack item created before you edit your bundle options.
- Navigate to the box item and click on the BUNDLES tab.
- Click on ADD BUNDLE ITEMS to search for the single pack item.
- Enter the qty of the item in your bundle (in this example, 36 packs for the box).
- Click ADD ALL at the top of the search results.
- This has told CSA that your box is actually comprised of 36 packs.
To break the box into packs, you must have more than zero of the parent product in stock.
- From the parent item's BUNDLES tab, select how many you'd like to un-bundle, and click UNBUNDLE.
- This will INCREASE your in-stock quantity for the child products and DECREASE your it-stock quantity for the parent product.
TIPS AND TRICKS
- You can also do this process in reverse if you want to RE-bundle a product or to create a custom bundle.
- Bundles can be nested. So you can have a bundle of boxes (a case), and each box can be a bundle of packs.
- This can lead to some confusing check-in data if you're checking in bundles of comics, so be aware of that when doing your reporting or looking at previous order quantities on a title that was available as bundled items.
