One of the core needs for comic shops is subscribing customers to series. Comic Shop Assistant has a few ways you can do this.

The most direct way to subscribe a customer to a series is from the HOLDS tab of their contact record.

On the holds tab, we have two columns. The left column will let you search for series. The right column shows what your customer is currently subscribed to.

In order to add a subscription, just search for the series in the left hand column.

You can search by the name of a series or by scanning a barcode from the series. If you want to see only a specific cover's series, scan the full barcode. If you want to see all covers, cover the last 5 digits in the series with your thumb and scan just the beginning of the barcode.

When you find the series you want to subscribe them to, click the subscription toggle icon (in fact, you can do this anywhere you see it on the site).

Once someone is subscribed, you can edit the quantity of their subscription and the start and end numbers of their subscription.

HOT TIPS

  • You can change the name of a series (to make it easier to search for, for example) by clicking the title of the series and then editing the title on the group/series page.
  • You can show or hide specific variant cover details by clicking the eyeball next to a series. You can show or hide all variant cover details by clicking the show/hide link at the top of the series search results.
  • If someone wants to get a variant cover for one issue, but keep their main subscription, you can edit their start issues to start AFTER the exception, and place a request for the variant (and for any issues that haven't released yet before the number of the variant).
