MONTHLY ROUTINE

  • SUPER IMPORTANT TO DO - In the first couple weeks after your Diamond initial orders are due, you should make sure to download your Lunar, Penguin Random House (and Diamond if desired) initial order files and load them into Comic Shop Assistant. If you don't do this, your subscriptions may stop working properly, item descriptions and other data may not show up.

 

OUR WEEKLY ROUTINE

FRIDAY

  • HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO DO - After 10am PST, we load Lunar, PRH (and Diamond if desired) FOC files into CSA. You don't have to do this ON Friday, but you should download the files from the distributors before Sunday evening, when everything changes in preparation of the next cycle. FOC is not locked Diamond or Lunar until Friday at noon EST, so if you grab files early, you may be looking at incomplete or totally incorrect data.

 

SUNDAY

  • Submit Diamond orders if you still place them. If you wait until Monday to send in your Diamond orders, that's fine, you'll just get a handful of flagged items that aren't available to order because their cutoff for some publishers is Sunday.

 

MONDAY

  • Submit Lunar, PRH FOC.
  • Place custom orders based on the previous weeks' sales and minimum points (you can do this any day, but this is the day we do it).
  • Prep Tuesday invoices for check-in (usually includes new invoices for Lunar and PRH, but a sub-invoice from Diamond).
  • Review delinquent customers and give them a last chance message.

 

TUESDAY

  • Count and check in packages from Lunar, PRH and Diamond (you can do this any day you want, but keep in mind that inventory gets adjusted and pulls get allocated to contacts at the moment you lock an invoice)
  • Pull comics for contacts and put in customer files.
  • Report shortages, overages and damages.
  • Send out email newsletter and invoices (In QA and testing now. Beta to be released to CSA shops soon).
  • After close, strip the NEW THIS WEEK shelf and put out new comics.

 

WEDNESDAY

  • Sell, sell, sell!
  • Load in new Diamond invoice and receive any new Diamond reorders (the timing on this will be different depending on how close your store is to Diamond shipping).

 

THURSDAY

  • Who knows what Thursday will hold? Game orders? Poster orders? Buying back issues? Poop on the floor? Anything could happen.
  • Cancel delinquent customers who haven't gotten back to us since Monday.
