Create a transaction

STANDARD ITEMS

    1. Most products in your store are probably standard items.
    2. To find a standard item, use the search bar near the top of your transaction.
    3. You can scan a barcode or search for an item by title.
    4. If there is only one search result, that item will be added to your transaction. Otherwise, you'll be presented with a list of items to select from.
    5. Note: Items in a supplies category that cost under a dollar will show up in the left sidebar so they don't clutter up your main line items.

BACK ISSUES

  1. If you search just title, no issue results will appear, but you can click through to the title to find the issue you want to sell.
  2. If you include an issue number (use the number 1 for one-shots like Killing Joke, for example), individual issues will show up as well.
  3. You can sell un-inventoried back issues with the price on the fly option at the top of each item's list.
  4. If an issue number is in inventory, you will also be presented with the option to sell that inventoried item by clicking the ADD button next to the price.
  5. If an issue number in your loose inventory (series and number only, no price, grade, cover designation), can choose to sell from that inventory as well.
    1. If your store has back issues enabled, you can track back issue sales as special items.
    2. To add a back issue to a transaction, click the ADD A BACK ISSUE button and search for title and issue number.

CUSTOM ITEMS

    1. If you can't find the item you're selling in an item or back issue search, you can sell a custom item by clicking the ADD A CUSTOM ITEM button.
    2. You must enter a QTY, title, category and price to sell a custom item.
    3. If you want to create a new item at the same time that you add this to your transaction, check the ADD TO ITEM CATALOG box. This will create an item that can be searched next time you want to sell it. Note that you'll need to add a barcode and any other specs to this item after you've completed the transaction.

SELL A GIFT CERTIFICATE

    1. Gift certificates are special items that can be sold using the ADD A GIFT CERTIFICATE button.
    2. Enter a price and a unique code (we recommend generating barcodes in advance for this) for your gift certificate and then add it to the transaction.
    3. When the transaction is tendered and locked, the gift certificate is created and ready for immediate use.

TIP: You can add or edit discounts by clicking the pencil icon next to the price on any line item. You can edit discounts for multiple items at once by clicking the APPLY BULK DISCOUNTS button near the bottom of the transaction.

TIP: We create barcodes formatted as: CSAGCYYYYMMDD##, where the YYYY is the year, MM is the month, DD is the day, and the ## indicates the number you've created that day. This way, we can create a bunch of barcodes in advance and prepare gift certificates to be sold on demand.

If we created three gift certificate barcodes on March 19, 2023, they would be CSAGC2023031901CSAGC2023031902, and CSAGC2023031903
