Overstock is how we refer to products that don't fit on your sales floor. In our shop, we have three overstock locations. One is called Behind the Counter Overstock, one is Upstairs Overstock, and one is Zero Point Overstock (stuff that we have decided not to put on the sales floor).
Comic Shop Assistant treats overstock locations as pulls for a special type of contact. Contacts set to the OVERSTOCK type give you some extra reporting and quick ways of adding and removing products from their pulls.
By default, when you view your overstock pulls, they're sorted by your on shelf quantity so you can see at a glance what urgently needs to be restocked on your shelves.
It's important to check items in and out of your overstock pulls so you have the most useful and up-to-date reports.
I suppose you could also use an overstock location as a way to keep track of items that are on eBay or that are separated from your main stock to bring to a convention.
Okay. So how do you do this wizardry?
